چکیده

Abstract Background Occupational class is an integral part of socioeconomic status. The studies focused on the occupational difference in ischemic stroke outcome a Chinese population are limited. We aimed to investigate associations between and prognosis patients with China. Methods included 1484 participants (mean age: 63.42 ± 11.26 years) from prospective cohort study: Infectious Factors, Inflammatory Markers Prognosis Acute Ischemic Stroke (IIPAIS). was categorized into white-collar workers, blue-collar workers farmers our study. Study outcomes were cardiovascular events all-cause mortality within 12 months after onset. applied Cox proportional hazard model evaluate study stroke. Results Within stroke, there 106 (7.5%) 69 (4.9%) deaths. Kaplan–Meier plots showed that had highest risk 12-month follow-up (Log-rank P = 0.02). Multivariate adjusted ratio 95% confidence intervals (CIs) versus 0.43(0.20–0.91) for events. No significant fully 0.62(95% CIs, 0.23–1.67). Conclusions Compared associated less at while no differences workers.

Plasma C-Reactive Protein and Clinical Outcomes after Acute Ischemic Stroke: A Prospective Observational Study

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Although plasma C-reactive protein (CRP) is elevated in response to inflammation caused by brain infarction, the association of CRP with clinical outcomes after acute ischemic stroke remains uncertain. This study examined whether plasma high-sensitivity CRP (hsCRP) levels at onset were associated with clinical outcomes after acute ischemic stroke independent of convention...

Prevalence of Electrolyte Imbalance in Hypoxic-ischemic Encephalopathy: A Hospital-based Prospective Observational Study

Background: The present study aimed to investigate the prevalence of electrolyte imbalance in hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). Moreover, the correlation of this condition with Apgar score is evaluated. Methods: This prospective observational hospital-based study was conducted on 75 neonates affected by asphyxiation. Immediately (within ...

Differences between ischemic stroke subtypes in vascular outcomes support a distinct lacunar ischemic stroke arteriopathy: a prospective, hospital-based study.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Whether and how the arterial pathology underlying lacunar ischemic stroke differs from the atherothrombotic processes causing most other ischemic strokes is still debated. Different risks of recurrent stroke and MI after lacunar versus nonlacunar ischemic stroke may support a distinct lacunar arteriopathy. METHODS We prospectively followed a hospital-based cohort of 809...

Outcome After Thrombectomy and Intravenous Thrombolysis in Patients With Acute Ischemic Stroke: A Prospective Observational Study.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE In patients with ischemic stroke, randomized trials showed a better functional outcome after endovascular therapy with new-generation thrombectomy devices compared with medical treatment, including intravenous thrombolysis. However, effects on mortality and the generalizability of results to routine clinical practice are uncertain. METHODS In a prospective observational...

Contrast Induced Nephropathy After Brain and Cervical CT Angiography in Stroke Patients: A Prospective Study

Background: Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) is a major side effect of intravenous iodinated contrast and causes both short- and long-term adverse effects. While diagnostic and interventional procedures of brain ischemia are recently advanced, it is necessary to be cautious about its major side effect. Objectives: To evaluate CIN and its risk factors in neurology patients after brain and cer...
